This is the classic SMITHS EMPIRE bank /office / waiting room vintage wall clock. This beautiful piece was made in Britain around the mid-20th century.

The beautiful case has a solid oak frame and is in really great condition with lovely grain figuring and only a little wear. The case has been hand-polished to a lovely satin glow. I have repaired, deoxidised and beeswax polished it, but there are some marks I didn’t want to over-clean then loose this lovely patina. The back box is a combination of timbers and shows moderate repairs. The dial is a light ivory colour and shows overall age throughout. Hhe hinged brass bezel has been cleaned and polished by hand. The glass is in good order.
