A rather special waiting room style wall clock made with a bakelite frame and oak back-box. A bank or office style vintage wall clock. Made in Britain in the 1940s. These are really rather rare.
The front part of the case is Bakelite. This is not marked as such, but these were typically made for the Ministry of Defence and is a very unusual piece. The back-box has oak sides and a ply back. The whole clock has been carefully refurbished by hand to preserve the original ageing. It has a hinged brass bezel. The light ivory colour dial does show a bit of wear.
Overall dia. 37cm, depth 9cm.
Fitted with a high quality battery quartz mechanism that is fully guaranteed for twelve months. Requires one AA battery which is supplied with the clock.
