Here is a rare stunner. This very rare bakelite office clock was made in England in the 1930s by Smiths. This model pre-dates the 1937 changes in Smiths, when clocks were henceforth called Sectric and the hands are very unuaual as they also pre-date the changes to Smiths’ standardised commercial hands.
The deep bakelite case has been cleaned and polished and has a lovely deep lustre, there is no damage. The case has a nice warm shine. The dial is clean overall and has mellowed to an ivory colour with light foxing. The logo and numerals remain crisp. There is just a little pitting to the hands.
Overall diameter 29cm, depth 7cm.
Fitted with a high quality battery quartz mechanism that is fully guaranteed for twelve months. Requires one AA battery which is supplied with the clock.
