An early Smiths clock with a beautiful case. Dating from the late 1940s or 1950s.
The bakelite case is in really superb condition for its age, and had been hand-polished to have a lovely warm lustre. The dial, as you can see, is quite aged. The dial has the less common addition of the red 24 hours suggesting it may have been for the Post Office or military. The hands are in good order. The original glass is in good order.
Overall diameter 29cm, depth 7cm.
Fitted with a high quality battery quartz mechanism that is fully guaranteed for twelve months. Requires one AA battery which is supplied with the clock.
